About SAEA

Southern Alberta Ethnic Association

The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association (SAEA) is a non-political, non-religious and non-profit volunteer organization established in 1977. It has a membership of ethno-cultural groups and resource individuals, mainly in Southern Alberta.

Our Purpose and Objectives . . .

1. Nurture and share our ethno-cultural heritage values.
2. Promote respect and understanding of each other’s ethno-cultural heritage values, recognizing the diversity in the Canadian multi-culture.
3. Support the social and economic integration and security of the ethno-cultural groups and individuals in the Canadian identity, securing equality of opportunity and rights for all.
4. Foster the treatment of all people with dignity and fairness promoting the fundamental human worth.
5. Committed to programs and initiatives aimed at the elimination of racial discrimination.

Our Role and Overview . . .

The Association is active in making Multiculturalism a way of life, voicing the concerns of the ethno-cultural community, establishing a home base for the ethno-cultural community, celebrating our cultural heritage events, coordinating ethnic cultural activities, coordinating language instructions, coordinating visitor attractions, organizing multicultural awareness programs, exhibit ethnic crafts and artifacts and many other activities towards the principle and practice of Multiculturalism in the Canadian Society.
